Get to Know Us!

Hi. We’re Janie and Sarah.
We’re the founders of Wandering Owl, and we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what it means to go on an "adventure."
For a full year, we lived out of an RV, traveling around the country and waking up in some of the most beautiful parks in America. It was the trip of a lifetime, but it taught us something we didn't expect: you don't actually have to drive a thousand miles to find the wild. Sometimes, the coolest thing you’ll see all day is just on the other side of your kitchen window.
Two Different Ways to Love the Wild We’ve been sharing a life and plenty of adventures together for years, but we’ve always had our own unique 'styles' when we step out the back door.
Sarah is our Field Guide. She’s the one with the muddy boots who doesn't mind a few bugs if it means seeing a rare bird. She’s obsessed with the little details—like the specific markings on a sparrow’s wing or the way a native plant helps a local ecosystem thrive.
Janie is our Sanctuary Seeker. She loves nature just as much, but she’s a fan of the "glamper" life—real beds, electricity, and a cozy spot to sit. She looks at the backyard as a retreat, a place to find a little peace and quiet while the world slows down.
Whether you’re out on a trail or just enjoying a coffee on the porch while the finches visit the feeder, we made this space for you.
Nesting for the Future. We believe that as we grow, our responsibility to the wild grows too. That’s why we’ve built environmental impact into the very core of Wandering Owl. Every purchase you make automatically plants a tree through our partnership with Sprout.🌲
We want to make sure our feathered neighbors always have a place to land, whether that’s in a managed forest or right in your own neighborhood. As we move forward, we’re dedicated to getting even more involved with bird and nature organizations to help protect the habitats that give us all so much peace.
Tees with a Conscience. We’re not into "fast fashion." To help keep our footprints small, every Wandering Owl tee is printed specifically for you only after you order it. This means no extra inventory sitting in a warehouse and no unnecessary waste. We use high-quality, eco-conscious materials (like buttery-soft Airlume cotton) because we want our pieces to be as kind to the earth as they are comfortable for you.
So, grab your binoculars, fill up the feeders, and let your mind wander into the wild. We’re glad you’re here.
Adventure-Ready. Rooted in Nature. Own Your Wild.
